The Bridge exists to encourage mission through growing the conversation between practitioners in different contexts and sharing learning from Glo Church.
In partnership with New Wine, The Bridge is a ‘school’ growing out of Glo Church, but we don’t mean desks, homework and detentions. We mean a place of learning and sharing through observation, conversation and reflection.
The Bridge was started in 2011 to offer year-long intern and three-year-long placements at Glo Church, and to share the various things we were learning about mission and church planting along the way.
We began to partner with New Wine in 2013 at the New Wine North & East summer conference, where we ran the Church Planting Stream. Alongside the Summer Gatherings we have been running more local ‘Pioneer & Planter Days’ which encourage reflective practice and give the opportunity to learn, share and pray together every three months.
The Bridge was initially funded by the Church Commissioners in partnership with the Diocese of Chester, the Bishop of Stockport and Glo Church, Offerton. We partner with Fresh Expressions and St Mellitus College NW.
